2026 IRS Mileage Reimbursement Rates

Here are the updated mileage rates for 2026. Please be aware that IRS is doing two rates for the calendar year. Contact your tax professional to determine the best way to track your mileage.


For 2026, the mileage rates for business, medical and moving related miles for military personnel, has changed. January thru June mileage will be calculated on one rate and July thru December, tracked on a different rate. It is important that you track and document your mileage correctly for tax purposes. IRS and State of Oregon are cracking down on mileage deductions. If consistent records are not kept, the deduction for mileage reimbursement could be disallowed. It is recommended that you consult with your tax professional on keeping accurate records in regards to tracking your mileage. 


The 2026 Standard Mileage Rates:


Business mileage for Jan-June: 72.5 cents per mile

Business mileage for July-Dec: 76 cents per mile

Charitable mileage: 14 cents per mile

Medical mileage Jan-June: 20.5 cents per mile

Medical mileage July-Dec: 23.5 cents per mile

Moving miles for military only Jan -June: 20.5 cents per mile

Moving miles for military only July-Dec: 23.5 cents per mile
